Position Overview
The Foreman/Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations in the incontinence product production area. The role ensures that production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and with consistent product quality. This position supervises production employees, coordinates shift activities, enforces safety procedures, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to meet company goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Management
Oversee and manage daily production operations for incontinence product lines.
Ensure all machines and production lines run efficiently to meet shift targets.
Assign tasks, plan workloads, and maintain effective workflow throughout the shift.
Monitor raw material usage and coordinate with inventory/warehouse teams to prevent shortages.
Troubleshoot production issues and minimize downtime.
2. Team Supervision
Lead, supervise, and support machine operators, packers, and line workers.
Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate shift goals and expectations.
Provide on-the-job training to new hires and cross-train existing employees.
Monitor attendance, punctuality, and employee discipline in accordance with HR policies.
Foster a positive, respectful, and safety-focused work environment.
3. Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with product specifications, GMP standards, and company quality procedures.
Perform random product inspections to maintain quality consistency.
Report any deviations, defects, or process inconsistencies to the Quality Control team.
Ensure proper documentation of production data, line checks, and corrective actions.
4. Safety & Compliance
Enforce OSHA and company safety regulations across the production floor.
Ensure all employees use required PPE and follow safe work practices.
Immediately report any near-miss, accident, or safety violation.
Promote a clean, organized, and hazard-free working environment (5S practices).
5. Equipment Oversight
Monitor machine performance and coordinate with maintenance for repairs or preventive maintenance activities.
Ensure operators perform basic machine checks and cleaning before/after production.
Reduce unplanned downtime through consistent oversight and prompt escalation.
6. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain accurate production reports, downtime logs, scrap reports, and shift summaries.
Communicate shift handover notes to incoming supervisors.
Support production planning by providing daily progress updates.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably paper, hygiene, tissue, or incontinence products).
Prior experience in a supervisory or foreman role.
Strong knowledge of production equipment, machine operations, and troubleshooting.
Ability to manage a diverse workforce and resolve team conflicts effectively.
Basic computer skills for production reporting (Excel, ERP systems, etc.).
Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with standing, walking, and lifting when required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the incontinence or hygiene products industry.
Working knowledge of ISO standards, GMP, or FDA requirements.
Bilingual capability (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Work Schedule
Full-time, based on rotating or fixed shifts.
Must be flexible to work overtime, weekends, or holidays based on production needs.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for long periods, walk the production floor, and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Exposure to manufacturing noise, machinery, and climate-controlled production areas.
