Complies with agency, program policies and daily nursing duties. Works under the direct supervision of the Community Health Nursing Supervisor in collaboration with the Director of Nursing (DON) and the Medical Executive Director (MED). Applies nursing principles and techniques in the direct care and treatment of clients in the clinical setting of the Immunizations Department. Strives to reach maintain 95% Immunizaiton compliance in 0-2 year olds, kindergarden, and seventh grade students in Osceola County. Provides immnunizations to adults and children to include international travel vaccines, rabies, influenza, pnuemonia, and other vaccines maintined by the Immunizations Department. Accurately input immunization histories and any vaccines administered into the FL SHOTS Registry. Import vaccines administered into HMS from FL SHOTS daily. Completes all appropriate Immunization forms required by the State of Florida for all schools and day cares including but not limited to DH 680 forms. Submits a daily inventory report to supervisor. Reports any adjusted or wasted vaccines monthly. Maintains a temperature log for the Immunization clinic’s refrigerators and freezers and notifies all of the appropriate agencies when discrepencies arise. Keep clinic rooms clean and stocked for use at any time, including maintaining vaccine stock. Maintains on-call cell phone in the event that excursions incur after hours. Arranges and moves vaccines to a new location according to the Emergecy Vaccine Management Plan. Assists with School Health review of immunization records for compliance. Maintains a tracking log for all programs within the County Health Department (CHD). Enters all data required in Florida Shots per program requirements. Completes order requests for medical supplies to maintain clinic flow and efficient par level monthly. Provides education and training to nursing students during clinical rotations as well as new hires. Completes vaccine return process on vaccines that are to expire soon. Completes reminder calls for immunization clients. Provides nursing services to eligible clients per CHD Nursing Protocols. Assists with completion of immunization logs, data entry for reporting,and other measures to ensure ongoing quality of care and compliance with standards and policy. Participates in outreach events related to specific program requirements and programs related to education, awareness, and community health fairs. Attends in-service educational sessions, all staff meetings, sits on a Quality Improvement (QI) Committee and engages in providing QI ideas for the advancement of the organization and our patients. Updates staff and supervisor on new changes related to the immunization flow. Attends necessary classes for professional development. Performs other related duties as necessary and/or assigned. RESPONSIBLE FOR TIMELY SUBMISSION OF TIME SHEETS and EARS. Information Custodian responsibilities include maintaining information in accordance with state and federal statutes, rules, regulations and Department of Health Security Policy 3 associated Protocols and Procedures as it relates to information Custodian, Delegation of Authority. This responsibility is to be adhered to 100% of the time. Provides nursing services as required during disasters. A current Florida Nursing License in accordance with Florida Statue 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.22 or 8.27. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of nursing principles, practices and techniques. Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. Ability to administer prescribed vaccines. Ability to provide direct patient care and treatment. Ability to work with patients having a variety of physical problems. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Skills in the use of medical equipment and instruments used in providing nursing care. Qualifications: Minimum -

A Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Florida or a multistate license

V alid Florida Driver's License and willing to travel to other sites in Osceola county to perform your duties

At least one (1) or more years of experience providing immuizations

Willing to work during or beyond your normal work hours in Special Needs Shelter, Red Cross Shelter, Emergency Operation Command Center (EOCC), or to perform other emergency functions

Preferred -

At least one (1) recent year of experience as a Registered Nurse

Experience in documenting and retrieving clinical information in the computer

Bilingual in English and Spanish and fluently speak, read, and write both languages

Experience providing immunizations
