Job Title: Specimen ProcessorJob DescriptionJoin our dedicated team as a Specimen Processor, where you will play a crucial role in handling incoming samples and ensuring they are properly processed for laboratory analysis.

Your responsibilities include receiving, identifying, and labeling specimens, inputting data with precision into our computer system, and maintaining production goals to ensure a consistent specimen flow.

You will also be tasked with reviewing and transcribing demographic and specimen data with absolute accuracy, performing supply maintenance, and assisting with clean-up duties to support workflow efficiency.

While you will not be directly handling open samples or performing tests, your role is integral to our operations as you will manage enclosed samples, including those for COVID-19 , blood, stool, urine, biopsies, etc., with proper personal protective equipment in accordance with the World Health Organization's guidelines.

Hard Skills

High school diploma/GED

Passing typing test of at least 7500 keystrokes per hour with 95% accuracy or higher

Previous laboratory experience

Previous overnight work experience

Soft Skills

Ability to multitask with different types of requisitions

Attention to detail

Strong data entry skills

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Melbourne, Florida.

Work Environment

The work environment consists of a large specimen processing room located in Melbourne, Florida.

You will be part of an over 80-member team working the night shift to support our work volume.

The role involves spending 90-100% of the shift typing and sitting at a computer.

While safety precautions are a priority, the space constraints mean that 6 feet social distancing may not always be maintained.

However, you will work in one area and have limited movement to other buildings or workstations.

The shift pattern is Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with rotating Saturdays.

Training will be provided for 2+ weeks on the same hours.
