Position Summary
Miami Shores Country Club is seeking a skilled and reliable Irrigation Technician to join our Golf Course Maintenance team. The Irrigation Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the golf course’s irrigation system to ensure optimal turf health and playing conditions. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the quality and reputation of our course.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor, operate, and maintain the golf course irrigation system, including pumps, controllers, valves, heads, and moisture sensors.
Perform daily inspections of the irrigation system to identify leaks, breaks, blockages, and malfunctioning components.
Execute repairs on irrigation lines, sprinklers, wiring, and controllers as needed.
Adjust sprinkler heads for proper coverage to maintain consistent turf moisture, while supporting water‐conservation practices.
Assist in maintaining the pump station and ensure all irrigation equipment operates efficiently.
Install new irrigation lines, heads, and components during course improvements or renovation projects.
Read and interpret irrigation maps, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Collaborate closely with the Superintendent to schedule irrigation cycles and adjust water applications based on weather, course conditions, and turf needs.
Maintain accurate logs of daily work, repairs, and system adjustments.
Operate golf course maintenance equipment safely and responsibly.
Respond to irrigation emergencies promptly, including after-hours when necessary.
Operation of Golf Course Equipment when needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience with golf course or landscape irrigation systems
Strong understanding of irrigation hydraulics, system components, and troubleshooting techniques.
Ability to use hand tools, trenchers, multimeters, wire trackers, and related equipment.
Basic knowledge of turfgrass management and water requirements.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Valid driver’s license required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Work involves walking, standing, bending, digging, and manual labor.
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
