Automation Engineer (Salary Range: $120,370/yr-$125,370/yr): Support development and building of complex assembly lines and stations for opto-electronic lidar sensors. Support industrialization activities at the contract manufacturers (CMs) and early-stage production efforts to improve automation equipment OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness). Coordinate effectively with a wide range of cross functional and cross organizational teams. Participate and support in FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) and SAT (Supplier Acceptance Tests) of automation lines and equipment. Programming and troubleshooting PLCs, Robots, controllers and other parts of automation equipment. Liaison with Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering and suppliers to develop, execute and deploy electrical test stations at CMs. Create Work Instructions for automated equipment and electrical test stations. Support Preventive Maintenance for Automation Equipment. Develop Process - Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (P-FMEAs)together with cross functional team.

50% international travel required.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or related engineering field. 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as an Industrial Engineer, Automation Engineer, Process Engineer, or a related occupation.

SKILLS: Must have:

1. Five (5) years of experience in the design or manufacturing of automated equipment for assembly of electronic products.

2. Two (2) years of experience with 3D CAD software Solidworks.

3. Two (2) years of experience with Beckhoff/TwinCAT3 PLC programming language.

4. Experience utilizing robotic arms to carry out automated dispensing and fastening processes.

5. Experience developing Process Flows Diagrams and P-FMEAs (Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis).

6. Experience using Statistical Process Control (SPC), Process Capability (CpK) and Measurement Systems Analysis(MSA).

7. Experience executing continuous improvement methods to enhance manufacturing quality, including lean manufacturing.

8. Experience implementing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
