CPA – Tax Preparation & Wealth Advisory
Location: Tampa, FL (Hybrid)
Schedule: In-office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Type: Interim (approx. 6 months) or Full-Time
Compensation: Estimated $150,000–$175,000 (flexible based on experience and employment type)
Position Overview
A Tampa-based Investment Advisory firm is seeking a CPA with a strong background in tax preparation, with a heavy emphasis on personal (individual) tax returns, to support its growing Tax and Wealth Advisory functions.
This is a hands-on tax role that also collaborates closely with Wealth Advisors to ensure tax strategies align with overall investment and financial planning. The firm is open to an interim engagement (approximately six months) or a full-time hire for the right long-term fit.
Responsibilities
Assist clients in achievement of their financial goals by implementing financial strategies to align with investment objectives, with a strong focus on tax efficiency
Prepare and present financial plans to clients while working with them to achieve goals
Develop and implement financial systems, strategies, processes, and controls
Review estate plans to ensure they achieve client goals and recommend changes to reflect new laws and regulations as needed
Work closely with clients to create investment portfolios that are easy to follow, understand, and manage
Monitor new regulations in the financial and accounting industries in order to proactively manage assets and align strategies accordingly
Work with other financial advisors and clients to maximize tax and investment efficiency while taking advantage of market changes
Ensure coordination between the Tax Department and the Wealth Advisory department
Responsible for Tax Department growth, workflow, and accuracy of products completed, including personal tax preparation and review
Qualifications
Active CPA license required
Strong experience in personal (individual) tax preparation required
Experience with high-net-worth individual tax returns strongly preferred
Background in public accounting or tax-focused roles preferred
Ability to work in a client-facing, collaborative environment
