The Landscape Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to assist with the installation, maintenance, and renovation of outdoor landscapes. This role involves physical labor, working outdoors in various weather conditions, and supporting a team to ensure high-quality landscape results.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with landscape installation, including planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and sod
Perform grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, trimming, and weeding
Operate basic landscape tools and equipment (shovels, rakes, pruners, wheelbarrows, trimmers, blowers, etc.)
Spread mulch, gravel, soil, and other materials
Install and maintain irrigation systems under supervision
Assist with hardscape tasks such as laying pavers, building retaining walls, or grading (optional—customizable)
Load and unload materials and equipment from work vehicles
Maintain a clean and safe job site
Follow all company safety standards and instructions
Work collaboratively with crew leaders and other team members
Qualifications
Previous landscaping or outdoor labor experience preferred but not required
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting 50+ lbs, bending, kneeling, standing for long periods)
Willingness to work in various weather conditions
Reliable transportation to job sites or company shop
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Basic understanding of landscaping tools and equipment (training can be provided)
