MOT Technician

Job SummaryThe MOT Technician is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient traffic movement through construction zones. This includes setting up and maintaining lane closures, directing traffic, and adhering to all FDOT standards and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, possess the ability to work effectively in fast-paced conditions, and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors.Key ResponsibilitiesImplement traffic control measures to protect the public and team members.Set up and dismantle lane closures and other necessary traffic control equipment.Safely load, unload, and transport signs, cones, and barricades as required.Direct traffic around and through construction sites using flagging and signaling techniques.Perform routine safety and maintenance checks on equipment and tools.Keep the worksite clean and organized by properly disposing of debris and materials.Accurately complete all job-related paperwork and documentation.Collaborate effectively with coworkers to maintain a secure and efficient work zone.Monitor job site conditions and adjust traffic control strategies as needed.Install and remove ground-mounted traffic signs.Understand underground utility locate markings.Safe and proper operation of hand tools.May be assigned to assist with other duties as needed.
