Flora Plant Kitchen is a busy vegetarian restaurant, urgently hiring for Line Cook. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for cooking and presenting dishes prepared by the prep cooks, ensuring every dish meets the restaurant's quality and presentation standards. This is an entry-level kitchen role suited for individuals passionate about food and eager to grow their culinary expertise.
Requirements:
Experience: At least 2 year as a line cook in a full-service restaurant.
Cuisine Knowledge: Familiarity with Latin American cuisines.
Schedule Flexibility: Available for early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred; culinary school education is a plus.
Skills: Basic English proficiency, cooking techniques, and knife handling.
Attributes: Punctual, detail-oriented, with a positive attitude and a passion for learning.
Certification: Food handling training as per local regulations.
Physical Ability: Lift up to 50 pounds; good manual dexterity.
Compliance: Adhere to local laws and health ordinances.
Workload: Capable of handling high production volume.
Responsibilities:
Prepare menu items according to recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
Use and maintain kitchen equipment properly.
Organize and set up workstations, utensils, and equipment.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards at all times.
Rotate and store ingredients using the FIFO method.
Read and prepare dishes based on orders received via the POS system.
Assist in maintaining and organizing kitchen, storage, and refrigeration areas.
Occasionally assist with dishwashing, sauce preparation, or other tasks as needed.
Work collaboratively with the team, maintaining effective communication.
Appearance:
