Email a Friend Save SaveApply NowPosition Description:Job Purpose and Scope:Responsible for leading a team that processes, underwrites, and approves loan requests in compliance with the Bank’s credit policies and procedures.Essential Job Functions:

Manages, coaches, and provides training to consumer loan processors/underwriters to ensure Bank’s credit policies, procedures and standards are met.

Monitors assigned loan application queue to ensure loans are handled in a timely manner to meet department’s service level standards and regulatory requirements.

Communicates effectively (with internal/external customers and Management) concerning approved and declined consumer loans.

May perform secondary review on loan applications decisioned with a “Decline” or “Counteroffer” to ensure credit decisions are made according to loan policy, the file is documented correctly, and the adverse action letter is accurate and according to regulatory requirements.

Approves loans requiring higher lending authority.

Provides guidance to underwriters and directly underwrites the more complex loan requests according to Bank’s policies and procedures.

Works to ensure production standards are met by the consumer underwriting team.

May develop new procedures and processes to enhance workflow and ensure Bank’s policies are met.

Performs in accordance with the Bank’s efficiency standards.

Ensures compliance with all laws and regulations as they apply to consumer lending.

Maintains the privacy and confidentiality of the information obtained in the underwriting and lending process.

Performs special projects and tasks as required by the department.

Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work.

Follows Bank policy, procedures and guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of consumer loan products and credit analysis for consumer lending.

Knowledge of accounting principles and business and personal financial statements and tax returns.

Knowledge of consumer compliance bank regulations in addition to the Office of Foreign Asset Control, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Anti-Money Laundering Act, and the USA PATRIOT Act.

Knowledge of general banking principles.

Ability to demonstrate initiative to accomplish work objectives.

Bachelor’s degree (Business or Finance preferred) or commensurate work experience required.

Minimum of five (5) years of consumer credit underwriting work experience required.

Minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience preferred.
