Cogent is a small business located in the Northlake area of Tucker, specializing in project-based finance workflows for the healthcare technology industry. From purchasing and managing A/P to invoicing customers for completed work, our operations demand precision, timeliness, and a focus on financial efficiency. Each project is unique, requiring detailed attention to ensure it’s completed on time and within budget.

We are seeking a skilled, in-house Bookkeeper with expertise in QuickBooks and all areas of accounting to play a pivotal role in maintaining our financial operations and supporting our growing business. This is an in-office position and not eligible for remote work.

What You’ll Do

Maintain and Monitor Financial Records: Ensure accurate and up-to-date financial documentation.

Purchasing & Vendor Management: Oversee procurement and process vendor invoices with precision.

Accounts Receivable: Manage A/R processes, including collections and ensuring timely receipt of payments.

Reconciliation: Perform thorough bank and credit card reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.

Compliance & Renewals: Assist with high-level requests from accountants and government agencies, and ensure all annual renewals are completed on time.

Project-Based Support: Collaborate with the Service Manager to track deliveries and align financial workflows with project milestones.

What We’re Looking For

Minimum of Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

2+ years of experience with QuickBooks (experience with QB Online is a plus; please specify).

Strong knowledge of A/P and A/R processes.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Exceptional attention to detail and a knack for numbers.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.

Punctuality, reliability, and access to dependable transportation.
