The Director of North American Tax will lead all aspects of the company's North American tax function, including income tax reporting, tax compliance, oversight of US indirect taxes, tax planning and strategy. This leader will oversee the tools and processes necessary to help us scale for the future in a highly visible role that includes frequent interaction with the CFO, Finance Leadership Team, and other senior leaders.The Director of North American Tax will be a leader and value-add business partner comfortable with managing multiple, high visibility priorities. Responsibilities:Oversee compliance calendar to ensure execution and compliance for all U.S. Federal, State and Local income, indirect and property tax compliance requirementsManage State and Local sales and use tax nexus studies, updating accordingly to incorporate any acquisitions into overall tax compliance strategyOversight of Senior Tax Accountant for sales, excise and gross receipts tax compliance in the U.S.Oversight of Federal and State Tax Audits, including analysis and response to tax notices for all tax types and U.S. jurisdictionsManage/coordinate all controversy processes at the Federal and State levels. Manage overall FIN48 process including specific analysis for U.S. Domestic and State income tax matters, inclusive of any reporting and reserve tracking required Perform tax accounting and financial disclosure in compliance with ASC740, calculation of the annual tax provision, valuation allowance, and deferred tax account reconciliationsSupport Finance function reporting to Audit Committee and senior management on tax risk management and compliance Assist in managing budget for outside advisors and ensure that projects are being conducted on time and within budgetDevelop and implement planning ideas to reduce short- and long-term tax burdensReview and advise executive management on business transactions such as acquisitions, joint ventures, and other collaborations to minimize tax risk and identify opportunities to generate valueAssist with global transfer pricing to ensure the allocation of profits is appropriateEnsure compliance activities optimize taxes in the U.S.Act as lead in supporting external audit of tax, including the preparation of the any tax research or memorandum/documentation requiredCoordinate with Director - International Tax on international tax mattersWork Skills / Personal Characteristics: Strong analytical and problem solving skillsProactive and effective communicator with ability to organize, anticipate and plan aheadExperienced skillset to identify and implement efficiency opportunitiesStrong leadership, interpersonal and partnership skillsAbility to build high quality stakeholder relationshipsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrates behaviors that are positive, progressive, supportive, confident, clearAdaptability and flexibility, able to manage fast paced change in growing a companyThe average base salary pay range for this position is $160,000 to $200,000 and may be considered for a discretionary bonus.
