Description Robert Half has partnered up with a dynamic, innovative Government firm to fill a Staff Accountant position on their team. Based in the Atlanta, Georgia region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted short-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity where effort is rewarded. The duties of Staff Accountant include fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and the preparation of monthly and year-end closings. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. And during the monthly close, your responsibilities will also cover various aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you will be in charge of communicating with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, playing an active role in compliance, and looking over schedules for the reporting processes.Major responsibilities
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Partake in annual closing processes
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules Requirements - Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Proficiency in account reconciliation
Command of Accounts Receivable (AR)
General ledger experience
Adeptness in Oracle Cloud
Accounts Payable (AP) experience
Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience
Proficient in ERP systems
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills
High attention to detail
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
