Key Responsibilities
As our In-House Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for providing quality major and minor repairs to our fleet in a timely and efficient manner. Your duties will include:
Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, brakes, transmissions, and other components using computer-aided diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
Performing preventative maintenance (PM) inspections and services, including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
Conducting safety checks and ensuring all work complies with company safety policies, as well as federal and state regulations (OSHA, DOT, EPA).
Maintaining detailed, accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed in our computer system.
Managing parts inventory and supplies in conjunction with the shop supervisor.
Collaborating with team members to prioritize tasks and complete repairs efficiently.
Qualifications & Skills
certification in Diesel Mechanics preferred.
Welding is a plus!
years of proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Diesel Technician.
Strong knowledge of diesel engine technology and mechanical systems.
Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and repair tools.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities with keen attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various conditions.
A valid driver's license is required (CDL strongly preferred, or willingness to obtain one).
