Medical Billing / Office Assistant Job
Description
As a Medical Office Billing Assistant in Augusta, Georgia, you will be responsible for greeting and escorting patients to an exam room. Medical Office Assistants prepare the patient for the physician by obtaining vital signs and documenting a brief health history. Medical Office Assistants check the patient's chart for pertinent data, including lab results, complete medical histories, medications, and allergy information, noting allergies in the patient’s chart. The Medical Office Assistant may assist the physician with the exam, tests or procedures. The Medical Office Assistant also prepares for any procedures performed by the physician by obtaining all necessary instruments, equipment and supplies.Responsibilities
Greet and escort patients to exam room. Prepare for physician's visits by obtaining vital signs and documenting a brief health history. Check patient's chart for pertinent data, i.e. lab results, complete medical histories, medications, and allergy information. Note allergies in patient chart. As per the physician's request, remain in the examination room to assist with the exam, tests or procedures.
