Position DescriptionCoordinates the daily activities of the A/R Follow Up and Charge Posting staff. Monitors work of assigned staff and acts as a professional resource. Reports status of the department to the Business Office Coordinator and Revenue Cycle Director overseeing charge input.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Works with the Business Office Coordinator to maintain a charge lag within or better than accepted industry standards.
  2. Responsible for the training and development of new employees within the billing department.
  3. Provide on-going feedback with A/R Follow -Up and Charge Posting staff to enhance/improve workflow of the department.
  4. Perform a variety of billing functions, including but not limited to assisting accounts receivables, quality assurance and charge posting.
  5. Effectively motivate and encourage staff to meet/exceed productivity standards for the department.
  6. Assist with monitoring productivity for A/R Follow Up and Charge Posting Teams.
  7. Interact with all departments and physicians with billing and collection communication.

Position Requirements

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

  • Two years of charge posting/accounts receivable/billing experience
  • Coding knowledge or CPC Certification
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in computer skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and communication/customer service skills.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

  • Knowledge of ICD and CPT Codes
  • Experience in EMR
  • Experience with Allscripts PM preferred
  • Experience reading and interpreting ATB
  • Experience with all payers such as Medicare, Medicaid, Manage Care and Commercial carriers
License/Certification Requirements: NoWork Hours: 8a-4:30pWeekend Requirements: NoOn-Call Requirements: No
