JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARYThe Plant Automation Controls Technician will install programs, maintains and troubleshoots automated and computer-controlled systems and robotic equipment. Key duties include diagnosing issues with electro-mechanical systems and PLCs, performing preventative maintenance, documenting procedures, collaborating with engineers, and ensuring safety standards are met. This role requires a strong foundation in electronics, mechanical systems, and computer programming.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSystem Installation & Configuration:Install and set up automated systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and robotic systems, to ensure proper communication and functionality.Maintenance & Calibration: Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on automated equipment to ensure optimal performance and calibrate machines for accuracy. Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and resolve technical problems with control systems and electro-mechanical equipment on-site and remotely, sometimes by programming or replacing components. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment usage, and system changes, often updating wiring schematics and software configurations. Technical Support & Training: Provide technical guidance and training to operators and other technicians on equipment and software operation. Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures, identify potential electrical problems, and design process improvements to ensure safe and efficient operation. Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, operators, and management to implement new systems, upgrades, and resolve operational challenges.
