TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER - POOLER, GA

Thomas Concrete is looking for a full-time hard-working, enthusiastic, and reliable Technical Services Manager responsible for technical services oversight for assigned plants in the Low Country/Midlands Division.

The Job

The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise the Technical Services Specialists assigned. Management has the ultimate responsibility for the quality of our product. This position is responsible to coordinate quality assurance activities, minimize quality problems and eliminate unforeseen claims against Thomas Concrete

Review structural drawings and specifications in CRM to determine appropriate mixes required for projects we are bidding

Determine total costs to produce each mix and forward to sales for pricing and quoting

Review test reports received from independent labs to monitor performance of mixtures and be able to address concerns in a timely manner

Produce Mix Designs and Submittals

Maintain close contacts with all vendors with emphasis on quality, pricing, service, and new products

Direct lab activities regarding new mixture, cement, or material evaluations

Provide support for customers and employees regarding technical questions

Direct field activities to ensure all areas of concern are covered

Be involved with local organizations such as ACI Chapters and Ready-Mix Associations

Qualifications

Five years technical experience

Two years supervisory experience

Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but experience in the industry can be substituted

A working knowledge of the programming functions of all current plant systems

An understanding of all aspects of concrete production and the types of products produced

High level of communications skills to interact with all levels of employees and customers

Professional demeanor and telephone manner

Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Team-based interpersonal skills

Positive and constructive approach

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment
