Finance Manager/Controller

Our firm is looking for a Finance Manager who will be responsible for the overall financial management of the firm, including day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the Firm. We are looking to hire ASAP. This position will quickly grow into the CFO position.

This will include responsibility for account, finance, forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, payroll, and institutional financing. The CFO will report to the firm's Management Committee.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or finance.

CPA is helpful but not a must.

Over 10 years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles.

We pay for parking and are considered a officer of our firm.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience working with and a thorough understanding of billing/accounting system software such as Elite Enterprise, template design software, financial statement software, a report writer/profitability tools, and analytical tools such as Excel, and a docket software.

Experience working for a professional services firm, preferably with multiple partners/shareholders and an organization with multiple levels of authority.

Strong technical accounting knowledge, including an understanding of GAAP, tax requirements of governmental agencies, and general auditing procedures.

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to provide clear, precise and well-substantiated explanations of financial events and trends to a non-financially astute audience. Comfort with occasional presentations to groups of attorneys.

Meticulous attention to detail.

Ability to work well, individually and in teams, with diverse group of people. Must have excellent people skills.

Comfort and skill in using a hand-on approach in situations where tasks and analyses cannot be delegated.

Ability to be comfortable with, and sometimes instigate, change and process improvement.

Strong knowledge and ability to administer benefits such as medical, life, disability, ,long term care, and profit sharing plan.

Strong leadership and management skills.
