Equine Facility Manager
Annual Salary: $52,000
Housing: On premises housing may be available depending on
qualifications, salary, and availability. Please discuss with potential
employer.
Key Responsibilities Equine and Facility Manager:
Manage and care for a herd of 30+ horses, ensuring their well-being and readiness for daily trail
rides.
Conduct thorough daily examinations of each horse, addressing any health or behavioral
concerns.
Perform routine equine care duties, including picking hooves, brushing, washing, and
administering basic treatments as needed.
Handle communication with farriers, vets, feed delivery, and anything horse related.
Assist on trail rides as a wrangler and tour guide as needed.
Utilize expertise in equine behavior to train horses and correct bad habits effectively.
Welcome guests and assist them with mounting/dismounting, offering guidance to those with no
prior riding experience.
Undertake general ranch labor, including but not limited to repairing fences, resolving minor
plumbing issues, and other light handyman tasks.
Attend to the care and management of additional livestock on the ranch, such as sheep and cows.
Maintain ranch equipment, including driving a manual transmission vehicle and maneuvering a
horse trailer.
Uphold high standards of property maintenance and cleanliness on a daily basis.
Promote teamwork with existing personnel and other wranglers
Qualifications:
Proven experience in managing and caring for a large herd of horses.
Strong background in equine health, training, and behavioral management.
Competency in general ranch work and maintenance tasks.
Familiarity with caring for other livestock, particularly sheep and cows.
Valid driver’s license with the ability to drive manual transmission vehicles and horse trailers.
A propensity for maintaining cleanliness and order.
Must pass a full background check.
