Part-time Hawaiian Fishpond Community Outreach Educator Position

‘Ao‘ao O Nā Loko I‘a O Maui, a local Maui non-profit organization, is seeking a part-time Community Outreach Educator. The educator will teach the public about South Maui’s Hawaiian cultural site, Kō‘ie‘ie Fishpond, and general information about the Hawaiian culture. The educator will also conduct outreach at Kō‘ie‘ie Fishpond on a regular basis with site visitors and promote positive ocean stewardship practices.

Applicants should have at least one year experience in teaching in an informal setting, have good communication skills, be able to work effectively with a diverse range of people and age groups, be knowledgeable about the marine environment and have a strong Hawaiian cultural background. Being fluent in Hawaiian is a plus.

Hours average 16 hours per week and schedule must be flexible. Pay is based upon experience and position is available immediately. This is a temporary part-time position.
