Full-Time Baker / Lead Baker – The Right Slice (Kalaheo, Kauaʻi)
We’re looking for a full-time baker to join our small but mighty ʻohana here at The Right Slice in Kalaheo. Our longtime Lead Baker is heading off to her next adventure, and we’re ready to welcome someone new to help keep our ovens full and our community smiling.
Schedule: Saturday–Wednesday, 5 a.m. start 30–40 hours per week
Pay: Depends on experience (DOE)
Start Date: Early November
We keep our schedules steady so you can plan your life, though we all help each other out when someone’s out or we’re extra busy.
What You’ll Be Doing
Baking both sweet and savory pies — from mixing crusts to pulling golden pies from the oven
Keeping an eye on inventory and creating the daily bake list
Working closely with our front counter crew to handle special orders and allergy questions
Helping with monthly cleaning nights and the occasional community event
Making sure every pie that leaves our kitchen is something we’re proud of
You’ll often work independently in the mornings, so good time management and attention to detail are key.
What We’re Looking For
At least one year of baking in a commercial kitchen
Reliable transportation and a clean driving abstract
Able to lift 50 pounds and handle early mornings
Already living on Kauaʻi — we can’t hire from off-island right now
Ideally living between ʻŌmaʻo/Kōloa and Kekaha

Training
You’ll train hands-on with the owner for 4–6 weeks on a flexible schedule. After that, you’ll have your own set five-day routine and lead morning production.

We’ve been baking up aloha since 2009 and have called Kalaheo home for over 11 years. Some of our team have been with us for more than six years. We’re a small, close-knit crew that works hard, laughs a lot, and believes pie should always be made with heart.
