Program Budget Analyst for 2026 Legislative Session

If you’ve ever wanted to see how laws are made and play a role in shaping your community, this is your chance.

We’re looking for energetic, curious, and team-oriented people to join our staff for the next Legislative Session. You’ll work closely with elected officials, witness important decision-making, and gain skills you can take anywhere.

Location: State Capitol, Honolulu

Dates: Legislative Session from December/January through May (Temporary Full Time Positions)

Hours: Schedules are determined by individual offices, but most full-time temporary positions follow standard office hours of 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Some evenings and weekends may be needed to meet deadlines.

Review and analyze state budgets and funding requests.

Prepare budget documents, reports, and worksheets for legislators.

Provide clear, concise analysis for decision-making.

Are available to work long hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.

You’ll thrive if you:

Have strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.

Are comfortable working with numbers and policy side-by-side.

Can keep calm and focused during high-pressure deadlines.

Salaries for full-time non-attorney positions range from $2,240 - $4,400 depending upon responsibilities and applicants' qualifications. Optional health benefits available.
