Manakai O Malama Integrative Health Care Group and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Medical Assistant. We are a well-established multidisciplinary healthcare clinic located in the beautiful Kakaako and have been serving the people of Hawai'i for over two decades. The clinic is adjacent to John a Burns School of Medicine and overlooks the ocean. Manakai’s philosophy is to bring together the best of modern medicine and traditional healing arts with cultural sensitivity to optimize whole-patient outcomes. The clinical Ohana includes: family medicine, occupational medicine, psychology, physical therapy, acupuncture, massage, and a full service sleep lab and wellness center. This facility is qualified as a top-tier Patient-Centered Medical Home and has fully adopted EPIC electronic health records. Responsibilities
Taking vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate)
Assisting with patient examinations
Preparing patients for procedures
Administering injections, infusions, and medications under the supervision of a healthcare provider
Collecting and preparing specimens for laboratory tests
Answer incoming phone calls
Assist with patient scheduling
Submitting prior authorizations to insurance companies
Qualifications
At least 2 years of previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinic or hospital environment is preferred
Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred
Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system is preferred
Ability to multi-task
Nurturing, Hard-Working, Team Player
Raining and experience in infusion therapy is welcome but not required
