Job Description

This is an entry level position, but candidates with experience are encouraged to apply. The Environmental Technician will perform field sampling, documentation and monitoring on a variety of projects located throughout the State of Hawaii. Projects to include mold, asbestos, lead paint, contaminated soil, air monitoring, water sampling, etc. Report writing and small project management responsibilities will follow after gaining successful experience.

We are seeking career-focused, team members.

Work Schedule

Full time. May include occasional evenings and weekends. Some travel required, possibly including extended neighbor island assignments.

Requirements

Four year college degree in biological, environmental, physical or related science (may be substituted with experience).

Self-motivated, strong work ethic.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team; and take control of assigned work.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Eager to learn and advance skills.

Ability to communicate clearly, read and write in English.

Detail oriented with excellent written communication skills.

Computer efficient.

Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of clients.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug test, and have clean driving record.

Must have dependable transportation and valid driver's license.

Physically able to load, unload, and maneuver field equipment

Able to work outside for 8-hour shifts

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

Experience in the environmental consulting industry

Working knowledge of ASTM environmental standards (Phase I, Phase II, and related)

Familiarity with the DOH HEER Office TGM

Experience with multi-increment sampling and analysis

Experience with soil vapor and/or groundwater sampling

Experience with the EHE/EHMP/C-EHMP process

Site remediation and soil disposal experience

State of Hawaii DOH asbestos certification(s)

State of Hawaii DOH lead certification(s)

Mold/Water intrusion investigation/remediation management experience

Indoor environmental training/certifications

HAZMAT/HAZWOPPER Training

OSHA Training
