Kauai Air Conditioning & Plumbing, a local mechanical contractor, is looking for a hard-working and motivated individual to join their team as an HVAC Lead Technician. Being on time, reliable, hardworking and taking initiative is essential. Candidates must have outstanding interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, be detailed oriented, computer literate, and possess problem-solving skills.

The HVAC Lead Technician works under the Installations Foreman to help oversee and coordinate the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of related HVAC equipment. The primary function of the Installations Lead is to supervise, train, and coach the Installations Technicians and Field Laborers on jobsites with a focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.

Job Functions:

Lead Installer/Technician on all respective jobsites/projects.

Coordinates work with other trades.

Inspects and ensures quality control of completed HVAC work per established procedures.

Mentor, coach, and train Installations Technicians and Field Laborers to help improve team knowledge and performance.

Supervises and evaluates the work of assigned personnel in the Installations Department.

Prepares and maintains records and reports related to assigned activities.

Estimates materials and equipment needed for projects and assigns tasks.

Maintain and enhance ongoing relationships with customers.

Take responsibility for safety performance daily.

Any additional duties/responsibilities deemed necessary.

Job Qualifications:

High school Diploma or equivalent required.

Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Valid driver's license required.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate with a variety of personality types.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to work under constraints and to make the most out of allotted resources.

Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple issues.

Attention to detail and completing work to a deadline.

Able to participate in customer relation issues and find solutions to solve customer disputes.

Understands the necessity of maximizing the productivity of the construction and technical workforce.

Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in one or more of the building trades.

Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose systems malfunctions.

Understand the importance of handling sensitive and confidential information and documents.

Good communication skills.

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Ability to work outdoors, on roofs and in attics/crawlspaces.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 hour shifts

Ability to commute: Kauai, HI: Reliably commute island wide (Required)

Education: High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience: HVAC: 2 year (Required)

License/Certification: Universal EPA Certification (Preferred) / Valid Driver's License (Required)
