Unix Administrator - TS Clearance
Position Description Candidate should have experience provisioning virtual machines and installing, configuring, and patching UNIX-based operating systems to support enterprise applications and databases. Creates and follows standard operating procedures to ensure completeness of buildsApplies security hardening as required for compliance and securityInstalls agent software for various third party products such as monitoring and backup solutions.Using management consoles to add or remove memory and/or processor allocations to virtual machinesInterest in automation of commonly used functionality is a mustCandidate should be comfortable writing shell scripts to automate tasksYour future duties and responsibilities Provision Virtual Machines, working with storage administrators and network administrators, as requiredInstall and configure UNIX Operating SystemsMaintain virtual machine and operating system baseline configuration documentation, including security controls, profiles, role, etc.Monitor system (hardware and virtual machines) for performance issues and notify application administrators in the event of degradation or unavailabilityProvision user accounts with approved access requestsVerify backups at least daily (workdays) and regularly test restore capabilityRespond to audit requests for operating system-level documentationMonitor security posture of the supported virtual machines and recommend changes to resolve issues/vulnerabilitiesClone virtual machines and/or data volumes as neededCreate/maintain shell scripts to support the tasks above and/or automate administrative tasksRequired qualifications to be successful in this role Experience managing at least 5 virtual machines in a UNIX environmentAbility to write shell scriptsDesired:UNIX-related certificationExperience with Linux, Windows, AIX, MacOS operating systems#CGIFederalJobBuild your career with us.It is an extraordinary time to be in business.
