Parts Manager

Job Summary

Parts manager will be responsible for the maintenance of parts and tools inventories, quoting parts/jobs, and ordering said parts/jobs. Applicant must have a general knowledge of diesel mechanics as to better perform the tasks required.

Applicant must have a valid drivers license and not have any DUIs in the past 5 years.

Mon – Fri: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Sat: As Needed.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Support diesel technicians with parts look-ups, part compatibility and quotes

Works with part vendors to ensure parts are on hand as needed and in the correct quantity

Ensures each technician receives the proper parts to ensure successful first-time repair of equipment.

Maintains inventory levels to match the requirements of the customer and company and adjusts stock to curtail accumulation of unused or old parts.

Processes returns in a timely manner so the company receives full credit from its suppliers.

Works closely with the office manager to ensure appropriate parts have been invoiced to the customer and regularly reconciles all open jobs and invoices.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, Competencies and Experience:

Previous parts/inventory experience a big plus

Punctuality and responsibility are a must

Demonstrated ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a fast paced, changing environment.

Mechanical inclination; Must know diesel engines, transmissions, rear ends, etc.

Solid organizational skills and ability to follow through; uses time efficiently and is detailed-oriented.

Demonstrates ability to work in a team environment.

Demonstrates written and verbal communication skills with the ability to establish rapport with customers, colleagues, and management.
