DescriptionThis role will maintain and grow profitable long-term relationships with allocated clients within sector/country. The role's main responsibility is to support the senior banking coverage staff within sector/country. To deepen client relationships and improving income generation through focused business development activities.The role holder may have client-facing responsibilities.The tasks for this role will include some or all of the following:>
Establish strong relationships with key individuals in client's management support team
Identify marketing opportunities, undertaking appropriate analysis and preparation of proposals, presentations and pitches for new products and services
Liaise with members of the client service team, ensuring a co-ordinated approach to enhancing the client relationship
Monitor income generation and effectively manage the financial reporting and analysis for the client portfolio
Develop and maintain individual client plans
Provide general support to seniors in servicing client relationships and enhancing income generation
Prepare briefing notes in advance of key client meetings
Act as primary point of contact for clients and internal colleagues
Where required, to provide high quality industry sector, competitor and client level analysis to support the credit application process
Where required, to prepare structured and focused application remarks for clients within the sector, covering renewals, new money and new, new money applications
Where required, to undertake added value work on behalf of the sector in relations to various credit returns whilst leaving final responsibility and sign off with the Associate Director as appropriate
Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved
Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
Undertake all required activities as directed by line manager or as agreed in annual objectives in support of the furtherment of the business
Over time, build relationships with individuals at our priority clients
Work with colleagues to onboard new clients and ensure the smooth running of the existing client portfolio
Undertake credit risk analysis of relationships (renewals) and specific new transactions
Assess the profitability of new deals
Qualifications
Minimum of five years proven and progressive financial services and/or retail sales experience or equivalent, including evidence of strong sales results and knowledge of insurance and investment products for referral purposes.
Relationship management experience with high net worth customers or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Strong sales, communication, cross-selling, sales planning, mathematical, decision-making and analytical skills.
Strong relationship management/building, customer service, time management and prioritization skills.
Broad knowledge of financial services products and services.
Ability to use customer relationship management systems.
Understanding of business banking customer segment and products and services appropriate to compliment Premier offerings.
A strong sense of ownership, responsibility and accountability.
An excellent understanding of financial planning, wealth management and understanding client needs.
