The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairs on injection molding equipment, robots, adjustments, maintenance, repair and operations of various types of assembly, subassembly, printing, and/or packaging machines. The company scope includes scientific injection molding processing operations and automation equipment in the manufacture of components and devices into FDA regulated markets. This is a high-speed and a controlled manufacturing environment (CME).Responsibilities:Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe working conditionsRead, use and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection tools.Perform all required necessary preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment.Actively participate on teams and offer suggestions for improvement.Answer machine alarms as they occur and identify and address the root cause. Follow all 5S guidelines Perform and document inspections per cGMP for work instruction sheet, on device history sheet records, and work instruction sheet tablesFollow all Lock Out/Tag Out rulesDiagnose and troubleshoot any pneumatic, electrical or mechanical malfunction on a variety of machines Adjusts assembly machine units for major/minor lot production operations following department specification Repair and maintain electrical controls on equipment (molding, assembly and packaging machines), including servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines and devices primarily on the basis of electronic principles Upload programs to controls in the events of program loss or CPU replacementRepair robot arms and controls, including replacing bad boards, motors, encoders, etc.Calibrate and adjust robot pick and place locations if neededConduct TPM activities as requiredInput Maintenance work orders into the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (SAP) Monitor processes, show an awareness of issues and demonstrate corrective actions to address those issues Perform weekly, monthly and as required preventive maintenance (PM) Perform root cause analysis for safety, quality, and processing issuesSuggest ways to improve the efficiency and safety of our work and environment Comply with all company policies Must be able to fluently operate presses, robots and auxiliary equipment to diagnose malfunctions, and to verify repairs.Troubleshoots and locates the source of the problem by observing the operation of the equipment.Brainstorms with other maintenance personnel, and outside technical support as needed.Restores damaged or malfunctioning equipment to operation by repairing, replacing and or adjusting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Controls down time by scheduling repairs with the Maintenance Manager.Maintains good communications with Maintenance Manager. Maintains ongoing list of projects with timeline to be addressed and completed.Assists other maintenance personnel as needed,Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.Ensures the work is completed with technical excellence, and in an efficient and cost-effective fashion.Other duties as assignedPreferred/Required Education/Skills:High school diploma or equivalent requiredMust have 3 or more years of experience in a technical, hands-on positionStrong math, reading and communication skills requiredExperience with injection molding requiredKnowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting (AB, Koyo, Omron, Mitsubishi, etc.)  Experience in hydraulics and pneumatics requiredComputer skills, including Microsoft Office applications required and SAP experience preferredAbility to work independently from verbal and/or written instructions requiredMust understand Lean Manufacturing conceptsMust be mechanically inclined and have the ability to use basic hand toolsMust have strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterityWork EnvironmentWorks in a clean manufacturing environment that may include moderate noise levels and required appropriate PPE and cleanroom apparelAbility to regularly lift up to 40lbs with repetitive movementsAbility to push and pull itemsAbility to stand and/or walk up to constantly during the shiftAbility to climb up and down ladders
