A Hinsdale-based Real Estate Group is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our team.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Accounting Assistant to join our team. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable
- Process and record financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Prepare and maintain financial reports and records
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Collaborate with the property management team to address financial queries and issues
- Utilize Appfolio Property Management software
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Provide support during audits and tax preparations
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the real estate industry
- Proficiency in Appfolio property management software is NOT required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
