Position Overview:
As an Accounting Specialist at our trucking company, you will play a vital role in managing our financial operations. This position requires expertise in trucking industry accounting practices, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to handle various accounting responsibilities including cash and accrual accounting, invoicing, bookkeeping, profit and loss statements, and POD (Proof of Delivery) verification for billing.
Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate books and perform cash reconciliations.
Implement cash and accrual accounting practices to ensure financial accuracy.
Generate and manage invoices for services rendered.
Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records.
Prepare and analyze profit and loss statements.
Verify PODs to ensure accuracy and cleanliness for billing purposes.
Collaborate with team members to resolve any accounting discrepancies.
Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in accounting in the trucking industry.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel and able to learn our TMS.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
