Description Robert Half's Legal Division is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join one of our dynamic in house clients in the Chicago Loop. This role will support the General Counsel and would be expected in the office for a hybrid schedule. Duties of this position include but are not limited to:
Drafting, reviewing, and revising various transaction-related documents, including purchase agreements, leases, closing statements, deeds, and other contracts
Preparing and organizing closing binders and ensuring all necessary documents are executed and properly filed
Coordinating and performing due diligence tasks, including title and survey review, and obtaining and analyzing zoning reports, environmental reports, and other critical documents
Assisting in the preparation and review of due diligence checklists and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations
Acting as the point of contact between the legal team, clients, and third-party vendors (e.g., title companies, lenders, and opposing counsel)
Organizing and managing the closing process, including coordinating schedules, preparing closing documents, and managing the transfer of funds
Reviewing closing documents for accuracy and completeness before execution
Managing post-closing tasks, such as ensuring all necessary recordings are completed, tracking post-closing obligations, and maintaining transaction files
Assisting in the resolution of any post-closing issues that may arise
Maintaining organized and up-to-date electronic and physical files for all transactions
Ensuring proper document retention and compliance with company policies and legal requirements
Liaising with internal teams, external counsel, clients, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth transaction processes
Providing regular updates to the legal team and other relevant parties on the status of transactions

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2-3 years of paralegal experience in a law firm, with a focus on commercial real estate transaction
Strong proficiency with technology for managing real estate transactions, for creating complex documents and spreadsheets; and an aptitude for adapting to new technology and software as required by the role
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to interface with colleagues at all levels, by virtue of professional competence, personal integrity, and overall professionalism
Ability to work under pressure, handle sensitive information with discretion and provide client service in a professional and calm manner
Ability to work effectively independently
