Position Title: Dental Assistant Front Desk

Location: Distinctive Dental Care of Bloomingdale

Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

Reports To: Office Manager/Dentist

The Dental Assistant Front Desk is responsible for managing the front office operations of the dental practice, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. This role combines administrative duties with patient care responsibilities, providing a welcoming environment for patients and supporting the dental team.

● Patient Interaction:

○ Greet and welcome patients as they arrive.

○ Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.

○ Schedule and confirm patient appointments.

○ Assist patients with completing necessary forms and documentation.

● Administrative Duties:

○ Maintain and update patient records accurately.

○ Manage patient accounts, including billing and insurance claims.

○ Handle financial transactions, including collecting payments and processing insurance reimbursements.

○ Coordinate referrals to other dental specialists as needed.

● Office Management:

○ Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and presentable.

○ Order and manage office supplies.

○ Assist with the implementation of office policies and procedures.

● Support to Dental Team:

○ Assist dental assistants and hygienists with patient flow and preparation.

○ Communicate effectively with the dental team to ensure seamless operations.

○ Provide administrative support for dental procedures as needed.

● Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in dental assisting or office administration is a plus.

● Experience: Previous experience in a dental office or similar healthcare setting preferred.

● Skills:

○ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

○ Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

○ Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Dentrix) and basic computer skills.

○ Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.

○ Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

● Professional and friendly demeanor.

● Detail-oriented and reliable.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

● Strong customer service orientation.

● Office environment with standard office hours.

● Occasional evening or weekend shifts may be required.
