Assist limited-English-proficient (LEP), low-income families and individuals in accessing available human and educational services. Position requires understanding of challenges faced by LEP immigrant families/individuals/seniors and patience/ empathy with clients whose education, English, and knowledge of American culture is limited as well as bureaucratic and communication skills. Your job will involve identifying available resources and helping needy clients to apply for needed services. The position also requires outreach, record keeping, reporting to and interaction with funders, etc. Accuracy is of the essence to assure clients’ access to programs. Written and spoken articulateness in English is required to make reports, file appeals, and write correspondence to funders. Most importantly, a genuine caring for people with sensitivity for others would round out the perfect applicant for this position. Cantonese proficiency preferred.

Qualifications in Sum: B.A. in social sciences related fields, strong communication/writing/bureaucratic skills as well as work and life experience.
