Position Overview:
Allstate Express Trucking is seeking a skilled Lead Diesel Mechanic to oversee the maintenance of our 100 semi-truck fleet. This individual will be responsible for leading a team of two technicians and ensuring the efficient operation of our mechanic shop.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM; 8:00AM - 12:00PM on Saturdays
Responsibilities:
-Supervise and coordinate the maintenance and repair activities of a 100 semi-truck fleet.
-Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, systems and other truck components.
-Conduct routine inspections and repairs on trucks, ensuring they meet company standards for safety and performance.
-Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts inventory and service history.
-Collaborate with fleet managers to prioritize maintenance tasks and minimize downtime.
-Monitor and enforce compliance with safety protocols and regulations in the mechanic shop.
-Assist in the procurement of parts and supplies necessary for repairs and maintenance.
-Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in diesel engine technology.
Qualifications:
-High school diploma or equivalent; Vocational or technical training in diesel mechanics preferred.
-Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a diesel mechanic
-Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, transmissions, and other truck components.
-Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, including electronic diagnostics and emission control systems.
-Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
-Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage maintenance schedules and records.
-Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
