My Client in Franklin Park, IL is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Delivery Route Driver to join our team. As a Delivery Route Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of our frozen desserts to our customers. You will drive a company truck over some established suburban and city routes to deliver frozen products. You will be responsible for operating delivery vehicles, managing delivery schedules, and providing exceptional service to our customers.
Responsibilities:
Safely operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods to and from specified locations within set time frames.
Arrive at the warehouse on time in the morning and be prepared to load your designated truck according to an established schedule. Inspect the truck properly and fill out pre-trip inspection forms. Notify supervisor immediately of truck maintenance issues or problems. Load staged orders assigned to your route in a safe and efficient manner by utilizing hand dolly's and pallet jacks and ensuring the product is secured in placed for travel and delivered in perfect condition.
Complete deliveries accurately and on-time to meet customer needs for overall satisfaction.
Must be able to lift cases up to 45lbs.
Requirements:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Follow predetermined route schedules, adjusting routes via GPS as needed to meet delivery times or address customer needs. Complete delivery logs and reports, including mileage and fuel consumption, and maintain records of each delivery. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure that the vehicle is in good operating condition.
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations and maintain a clean and safe driving record.
Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer concerns and queries promptly.
Provide an invoice and signatures from customers as required.
Collaborate with the dispatch team to optimize routes and delivery schedules.
Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role preferred.
Ability to operate delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
Strong time management and organizational skills to manage delivery schedules.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Physical ability to load and unload heavy cargo.
Knowledge of local roads and routes.
Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
