Fleet Deckhand

SCF Lewis and Clark Terminals LLC (a wholly owned subsidiary of Ingram Barge Company) is currently hiring for Fleet Deckhands to support our fleeting operations in Granite City, IL.This position requires associates to live within 50 miles of Granite City, IL. Before applying please note:Must have Driver’s License and a valid TWIC CardThese vessels work a variety of schedules ranging from 5/2, 5/3, and 7/7. You will be assigned to a vessel after completion of Orientation.Candidates wishing for a position working 28/28-day schedule should apply to the Linehaul Deckhand posting. Regardless of assignment and schedule you will be reliable for your own transportation to and from your hitches.   What you’ll be doing:Assisting deck crew in tow building (laying wires, tighten ratchets, sweep and shovel barges)Daily vessel housekeeping (sweeping, mopping and cleaning crew living quarters)Assisting with lockingCarrying rigging (ratchets, wires and straps) pumps, hoses and linesWorking outdoors for extended periods of time in weather conditions such as heat/cold & rain/snowChecking barges for water and leaks – which at times requires climbing into confined spacesUpkeeping vessel appearance includes sooging (washing), chipping and paintingAssisting the Engineer as requestedPracticing safe crew, vessel and tow operation using Ingram safety systemsParticipating in safety drills and auditsPerforming other related duties as assigned or requested
