LabCorp has an opportunity for a Director, Operations to join the North Central's North Subdivision. This exempt position is responsible for strategic planning and Director level oversight of Phlebotomy, Courier/Logistics, Hospital Laboratory Services and Accessioning Teams' processes and procedures, specific to the North Subdivision, with an emphasis on quality, productivity and standardization.As an Operations Director, this position will also exercise tactical and oversight responsibility for large scale projects, involving multiple business units, the work objectives for this position are directly associated with workflow mapping, continuous quality improvement, training, and procedural standardization.Work Objectives

Responsible for the development and administration of processes and procedures for the efficient operation of the laboratory and pre-analytical processes in accordance with corporate and regulatory guidelines.

Responsible for strategic planning and due diligence in large projects, including but not limited to acquisitions and large hospitals management

Reviews, analyzes, evaluates and documents complex operation(s) in relations to the overall operations of the division, including staffing, client profitability and margins.

Ensures consistent communication of current operations initiatives through leadership of corresponding steering committee activities.

Advanced understanding of Diagnostic Laboratory Revenue Cycle Management processes as they apply to patient services.

Competency in business accounting, including the development of high-level cost analytics, budget, proforma review and a general understanding of the cost accounting within an operational business unit.

Project management experience including the development of large project plans

Continuous Improvement Program experience

Understanding of Pre-Analytical Laboratory process flow (accessioning, problem management, specimen integrity)

SOP creation, review and audit, including workflow mapping and analysis

Requirements

Normally requires a B.A./B.S. with 7-10 years of experience in a related field.; MHA and/or MBA preferred

ASCP MT-Generalist Certification Required

Process improvement certifications desired (i.e. Six Sigma)
