Job Description

The HR Generalist will provide day-to-day professional HR support and policy administration to multi-site facilities. The HR Generalist will serve as a trusted advisor to departmental leaders and carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Employee Relations, Training and Development, Benefits, Wellness, Compensation, New Hire Orientation, Performance and Talent Management, Recruiting, etc.

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Works with leaders to manage talent acquisition activities including scheduling interviews, working with hiring managers to write job descriptions, posting, screening, and interviewing candidates.
  • Supports day-to-day employee relations, the application of employment laws and human resources.
  • Supports the ITW performance management cycle, advising and coaching in areas of goal setting, mid-year feedback activities, annual performance review and the compensation planning process.
  • Organize data for affirmative action plan generation.
  • Organizes and conducts all new hire orientation and onboarding.
  • Inputs and maintains employee data in the HRIS and employee files.
  • Prepares employee communication documents including new hire, disability, benefit, separation notices and related documentation.
  • Works with ITW corporate human resources or third party providers, as necessary, in management of employee life cycle processes and transactions.
  • Generate and analyze reports on general HR activity.
  • Manages leave of absence programs.
  • Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance.
  • Liaise with other departments or functions (payroll, benefits etc.).
  • Assist supervisors in performance management procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree, required
  • 2+ years of HR Generalist experience
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Spanish language proficiency is preferred
  • Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices
  • Outstanding communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization
  • Effectively manage and prioritize workload, assume and manage multiple tasks without close supervision, adapt to change, and consistently meet deadlines
  • Strong technical skills/aptitude: Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word and Excel), HRIS systems, and ATS systems.
  • Ability to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential business and employee information.
  • Ability to travel <10%
