SUMMARYThe Garden Center Manager’s responsibilities cover the overall operation and success of the Garden Center.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain quality and stock levels of the Garden Center

Daily monitoring of cleanliness of the Garden Center

Provide information to customers on the care of flowers and plants

Develop, implement, maintain, and coordinate aggressive and creative merchandising plans which maximize sales and variety

Supervise garden center associates to ensure efficient labor utilization and effectiveness in meeting department objectives

Manage Garden Center department receiving, invoicing, pricing, shrink control, and inventory to ensure proper product control and gross profit goals are met

Supervise the Garden Center safety

Follows and NFI policies and procedures along with any State and Federal Regulations.

Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESDirectly supervises Associates. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and coaching associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to work with Supermarket math concepts such as addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages, distribution, penetration, gross profit, and Sales Per Associate Hour.REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
