ABOUT THE JOB: Our Accounts Receivable department is seeking a talented individual for our Cash Application and AR Specialist position. In this role, you will apply a high volume of payments and perform various accounts receivable and credit functions. This position is based in Schaumburg, Illinois. We offer a hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days WFM. For those interested, this position can be part-time (20-25 hours/week) and fully remote for the cash application (only) responsibilities. The full-time position responsibilities include the following: Cash Application
Handle day-to-day customer payment application from ACH/EFT, wires and lockbox.
Review and balance all lockbox deposits. Process unmatched payments.
Resolve unapplied cash by working with AR Specialists to ensure cash is applied quickly and accurately.
Record Electronic Deposits.
AR Specialist
Make collection calls and follow up on past due with customers.
Initiate reconciliation of disputed accounts receivable to resolve discrepancies in conjunction with both sales and customer service areas.
Dunning to customers & appropriate escalation on more serious matters
Trouble-shoot outstanding issues on accounts
Apply customer payments and reconcile customer accounts.
Customer refunds
Entry of invoice information into customer portals as needed.
Interact with all Business Units, sales, customer service, finance, and other internal departments concerning credit and customer service issues.
Perform other accounting duties as assigned by Assistant Credit Manager
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
High School Diploma required
Some advanced schooling in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or related field is preferred
Minimum of 1-year of Cash Application experience
Must have good aptitude for numbers.
MS Office Suite Skills: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Strong problem solving & customer service skills
Excellent Communication and written skills required.
Organized, with attention to detail & logical solutions to scenarios
