Position Summary:
The Food Service Worker performs a variety of tasks required within a food service operation including patient tray assembly / delivery, dish area, salad bar, short order cooking, cafeteria serving, re-stocking, cash register and cleaning.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS None Specified CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Food Handler Certification. Food Handler Certification required within 30 days. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Ability to follow written and oral communication. Ability to verbally communicate effectively with co-workers, nursing staff, patients and guests of the hospital. Knowledge of modified diets. Ability to complete multiple cash and charge transactions accurately. Knowledge of how to operate deep fryer, flat griddle, pizza oven, pannini maker, and serve from a steam table
Essential Functions:
Re-stock food and small wares supplies according to the established par levels.
Deliver or serve patient/guest meal trays and retail food items accurately and in a timely manner.
Keep retail or production preparation areas clean and sanitary using the established Public Health District standards.
Follow guidelines for food handling and sanitation and ensure compliance.
Prepares food and beverage requests in a timely and accurate manner.
Complete dish and ware washing duties as assigned.
Perform accurate cash handling for guest tray charges and retail food operations.
Maintain dish room, ware washing area and tray assembly area in a clean and sanitary manner.
Limit over production to minimum to control waste and food cost.
Work as a grill cook as needed.
