Supervises entry and intermediate professional level employees or team leaders of support employees in Systems Engineering. Assesses costs and technical performance of department projects, and coordinates department activities including the design and modification of product requirements to meet total systems solutions.

Develops and coaches team members on appropriate policies, procedures, and control processes to meet work requirements and business objectives.

Establish goals and objectives for requirements management, reliability, logistics, coordination of different teams, evaluation measurements, and other disciplines for large projects.

Supervises the collection and analysis of customer specifications and system level requirements to provide decomposition into sub-system and piece part requirements and generate verification criteria and plans for the requirements.

Monitor costs, effectiveness, and reliability of activities and recommends modifications to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and ensure that business objectives are met.

Supervises work-processes, optimization methods, and risk management tools for large projects.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

3 years+ as an Engineering Manager

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (fire protection/mechanical/electrical)

NICET Level II in Special Hazards and/or Fire Alarm

5+ years' experience in project engineering, preferably with a manufacturer of Fire and Gas Alarm Systems or other Safety Systems manufacturer.

Experience with special hazards fire suppression systems, especially CO2 and water mist, and fire alarm system design.

Experience with AutoCAD.

Must have excellent written and verbal skills.

Must be able to follow direction and work closely with other departments and directly with customers to meet project requirements
