Construction Inspector - Water Resources Projects - Traveling throughout IndianaWe are actively hiring a Construction Inspector to join a premiere Construction and Engineering team in Indiana doing work across Indiana. This person will report directly to the Lead Construction Manager while overseeing Water/Wastewater projects. While this person is primarily expected to support projects in Northwest Indiana, they could be required to travel for jobs in Central Indiana, Southern Indiana, and parts of Kentucky. Project Types will include: Municipal Water Distribution Systems, Wastewater Collection Systems, Water Treatment Plants, Wastewater Treatment Plants, Water Lines (underground), and Sewer Lines (underground). This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in Utilities and Construction to work on high-profile projects while developing their career with a successful firm.Job Responsibilities:

Train and oversee Inspection staff with Project Time, Cost Management, Documentation, Risk Management, and Quality Assurance.

Coordinate between Resident Project Representatives, Project Engineers, and Project Managers.

Provide guidance and oversight to construction inspectors and assist with job site inspection as-needed.

Fill in for inspectors (RPRs) on the job site that are on vacation or out sick

Assist with facilitating and conducting regularly scheduled construction meetings.

Coordinate with contractors to schedule inspection activities and help resolve design and field issues.

Assist with project management for technical and cost efforts to meet deadlines and budgets.

Oversee validation of products and materials ordered for projects to verify their conformance to specifications.

Ensure federal, state and local regulations for construction procedures and safe working conditions.

Job Requirements:

Candidates must have at least 1 of the following:

5+ years of experience as Foreman or Lead on Underground Utilities or Treatment Plant jobs

2+ years of experience in Construction Inspection on INDOT or Water/Wastewater jobs

Ability to read Construction Plans and Blueprints

Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel

Working knowledge of ProCore

Must be Willing to Travel

Travel, Location, and Schedule:

Candidates must be willing to travel to job sites across the State of Indiana, including Overnight Travel in Hotel/Apartment when necessary.

Company will do their best to keep Inspectors as close to home as possible, but candidates must be comfortable working out-of-town.

Projects further than a 90-minute commute will be evaluated to determine the best cost effectiveness - Daily mileage or hotel.

Inspectors will use own vehicle, with Mileage reimbursed at the Federal Reimbursement Rate (currently 67 cents per mile).

Hotels/Apartments are paid for by the company, and additional Per Diem is provided at $40/day when traveling.

Standard Construction hours (7am to 4pm) with overtime. Candidates must be willing to work 50+ hours/week.

The first projects will be located in New Market, IN, and Frankton, IN, but those can change.
