Cares for students with chronic health issues and helps identify health needs during the course of the school day. Provides health education, medication management, emotional support and referral to higher levels of care based on student needs. Supports the education process by working to assure the health of the students. Promotes healthy habits and overall health to strengthen maximum learning. The school nurse will support Sunny Heights Elementary located on the east side in Indianapolis, Indiana with Warren Township Schools.Exceptional Skills and Qualifications-Graduate of National League for Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) accredited school of nursing, or three years of related professional nursing experience.-Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).-One year or more of nursing experience required.-Two years of experience working with pediatric patients required.-Excellent communication skills.-Excellent team skills.-Compassionate and caring.-Accountable.-Self-directed.Why Community?At Community Health Network, we build teams that deliver exceptional care through empathy, communication and collaboration.
