Job Description:-
The successful candidate is one who can participate in a multi-disciplined team and properly apply engineering tools and processes under limited supervision.
The candidate seeks to understand stakeholder needs and sometimes performs reverse engineering methods.
The candidate has experience formulating design concepts into realized electrical functional blocks.
The candidate captures these designs with Altium Designer.
He/she holds ownership of one or more circuit card assembly designs being accountable to technical performance and schedule expectations while minimizing risk.
This position requires frequent use of technical standards, principles, concepts, and techniques that candidates apply to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
Successful candidates work in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive under general supervision.
Candidates must exhibit a high degree of initiative and sound judgment, working independently and as a member of the Electrical Hardware Development Team.
It is essential the individual be capable of adapting to changing conditions and work cooperatively in a team environment.
The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite as routine communication will occur through Teams, OneNote, Azure DevOps, Excel, and e-mail.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 5 years Engineering design experience and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related STEM field, or a master’s degree with relevant internship experience
A self-motivated and effective communicator
Ability to take a design concept from the block diagram or requirements level and develop a complete hardware design, and verifying via test and integration
Experience with PCB design tasks and proven ability to use tools to design (schematic capture), analyze and simulate designs prior to hardware execution
Capable of functioning in multi-disciplined design teams across multiple projects
Must be a self-starter, a quick learner, and be able to function in a dynamic environment, and have good time management skills
Proficient in digital circuit card design
Competent in circuit analysis
Competent in COTS integration
Desired Skills:
Experience using Altium Designer, or equivalent.
Experience performing time domain and AC signal analysis in one of the following: LTSpice, QSpice, PSpice. Awareness and experience of digital simulation environments.
Experience in the development and design of electronic circuit designs, multi-assembly system/unit design, and processor designs
Team and project leadership skills
Experience with embedded test techniques, design for test, design margin analysis and design for production
Experience with military specifications or similar (MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464)
Design experience with environmental and electro-magnetic interference (EMI) concerns
