Required Experience for Maintenance Person:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous maintenance experience preferred.
Must possess good handyman skills and good working knowledge of plumbing, electrical and carpentry skills.
HVAC helpful but not required.
Familiarity with common tools.
Familiarity with common repair techniques.
Must have good organizational skills and a good working knowledge of plumbing and electrical skills.
Must be able to perform general maintenance duties such as plumbing, carpentry, furniture, electrical and appliance repairs.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on apartment buildings and grounds, including plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, groundskeeping
Assist with the preparation of vacant units for new tenants, including cleaning, painting, and minor repairs (make ready).
Inventory control and equipment maintenance
Masonry work
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and building codes
Assist in apartment inspections and accurate record keeping - work orders completed in a timely manner.
Coordinate with Site Staff to complete work orders as provided
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in apartment maintenance or a related field
ยท Must have some plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall repair.
Valid driver's license, clean driving record, reliable vehicle
Some computer knowledge for work orders
Able to communicate in English
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Neat appearance
Must have your own tools
Physical Requirements: The Apartment Maintenance Technician must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. The position may require standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions: The Apartment Maintenance Technician will work primarily indoors. The position may require working on weekends and holidays and may involve on-call duties. Emergency lockouts and or emergency maintenance.
Working as an independent contractor and reviewed after 90 days.
