Position Overview:Collins Aerospace is looking for a Software Engineer (Intern) with a passion for engineering. Our team develops the Onboard Maintenance System (OMS) which is a part of the Collins Aerospace state-of-the-art flight deck solution. As a contributor of the OMS team, you will be researching and prototyping future solutions for maintenance applications. Since the OMS is part of a modern flight deck solution the candidate will be able to learn about the software life cycle, how diagnostics is performed and how systems interact on an aircraft.This position can be a hybrid or remote position.Primary Responsibilities
Explore the current application infrastructure
Investigate minimum requirements for a new diagnostics, test and rigging solution
Compare different approaches, tools, methods
Create prototype(s) using the tools and maintenance data
Document and present prototype(s) and investigation results
Basic Qualifications
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate would have a high interest in software/systems engineering
Motivated to learn and explore new solutions
Desires to do software/systems development and systems engineering.
Enjoys working with people and is a great communicator.
Be motivated and a self-starter and quick learner.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
