Project Engineer / Associate Project Manager

Stryker DES is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Project Engineer / Associate Project Manager. The position will support our Sr. Project Manager(s) and operations team in setting up Stryker DES projects, as well as assisting in overall project management with the goal of safe and efficient completion. The position will also support the estimating team in preparing bids and proposals by reviewing specifications and plans, preparing take offs, collecting quotes, preparing bid documents and client deliverables. Finally, once a project is awarded the position will work to prepare site specific work plans and other required submittals

Experience in the decommissioning, demolition, construction, and environmental remediation industries is preferred but not necessary. Candidates can be entry level or have up to 5 years of experience. We are seeking candidates that are a good fit and that can articulate and write well, are comfortable in fast moving environments, and can learn quickly.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide support in various capacities to the Sr. Project Manager and field project team

Be willing to travel and spend extended time periods at Stryker DES field projects within the United States

Assist in procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, as well as assist the Sr. Project Manager with information on the project e.g. bid, permits, utilities, purchase orders

Assist in project submittals such as reports, work plans, waste profiles, etc.

Maintain organized project files during project execution and bidding

Review project scope and needs with estimating team

Procure service quotes, transportation and disposal, subcontractors, other specialty services

Assist with takeoff quantities for estimating a project cost and scope

Assist with bid evaluations

Work with office staff to complete pre-qualifications for future client opportunities

Attend pre bid and preconstruction meetings as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

0-5 years construction, environmental, or demolition industry experience

Ability to provide verbal/written communication in a professional manner

Intermediate skill in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and project managers

Safety training or certification(s) a plus

General knowledge of OSHA Construction standards a plus

A criminal background check, drug and alcohol screen will be conducted

Physically able to lift/push/pull 50lbs

Ability to work productively in personal protective equipment throughout work shift in all weather conditions

Ability to climb, kneel, stoop, bend, lift, push/pull and/or reach frequently

Ability to work overtime on an extended day or weekend shift as may be required to meet customer expectations and schedules

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Experience on large industrial demolition projects preferred

Current 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time salary position

TRAVEL: This position will require the candidate to be based on one of our projects in the United States with the location changing based on client needs.
